Mayor Thomas P. Koch and members of the Quincy Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated the grand opening of the Spa at Boncaldo’s at an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 76R Beale Street in Wollaston.

Alyse and Philip Boncaldo, owners of The Spa at Boncaldo's, recognize the uniqueness of their facility and location. The Spa is set up with individual treatment rooms and the staff is licensed and experienced in identifying client issues. Treatments include products from the Image Skincare natural, botanically based product line coupled with beneficial essential oils for a more profound experience.

The Spa is located in the same Victorian age structure as Boncaldo's Gentlemen's Barbershop, which will be celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. According to Philip Boncaldo, a 30 year Master Barber at the adjacent Gentlemen's Shop, "Customers have been asking me about offering a reputable establishment for spa services for some time...and the time was right. We employ licensed, experienced personnel. The location is convenient for them before or after a haircut." Mr. Boncaldo is also quick to mention that The Spa offers services for women, too. "Friends, wives, girlfriends and mothers of customers are coming in for those special waxing, skin and massage treatments that they would have to make a separate appointment for. Now, while Little Joey is getting his haircut, they can see to their needs, which saves time all around."

The Spa at Boncaldo's is reasonably priced, to appeal to all age groups and service levels. Jill Rogers, their featured Esthetician, worked for many years in Harvard Square and still has a loyal following. Rogers specializes in brow "grooming" for men and brow "shaping" for women. A Signature Facial is offered at $50 and features the full cleansing, exfoliation, massage, mask and moisturizing. "One of our key areas is facial cleansing and acne in the pre-teen and mid-teen age group," adds Alyse Boncaldo, Esthetician and one of the owners of The Spa. "Oftentimes acne can be avoided or improved with proper cleansing techniques and natural products." The Spa features Image Skincare as their premier product line.

Kasia Ginter, The Spa at Boncaldo's Massage Therapist offers a variety of massage therapies ($65-90) to meet customer's needs. From Swedish, Deep Tissue and Thermal Stone massage to Therapeutic, Maternity and Pressure point specific, the client is re-assessed and managed at each session. A private steam room experience may round out the service.

The Spa's Manicure Specialist, Danielle Rizzitano is skilled in nail care (manicure and pedicure) as well as nail art with natural nails and Gel Colors. Gel is a stronger alternative to traditional color, lasting up to 2-3 weeks without chipping. Men are the Spa's best customers when asking about Pedicure services...they've reported enjoying the services in a setting which caters to them. Unique to The Spa is a Hydromassage Bed. Fully clothed, the client receives the warm jets of 25 gallons of distilled heated water, soothing aching muscles. The settings are customizable by the client to target key areas. Priced at a seasonal special of monthly unlimited visits for $30, the Hydromassage Bed is a great deal.

The Spa at Boncaldo's is available for spa parties and special events, with menus customized to the group. Call them for a Mom's Night Out, Men's Night, or a fun alternative to dining with friends.
