Light Up the Holidays in Quincy!

Join the City of Quincy for a weekend of wonderful holiday events!

Friday, November 25th from 4:00 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.

The festivities begin on Friday, November 25 at 4:00 p.m. at Presidents Place Galleria (1250 Hancock Street). It’s an evening of free family fun that is co-sponsored by the City of Quincy, Quincy Chamber of Commerce, and Discover Quincy.

From 4 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., enjoy ongoing activities:

• Lego making, ornament making, letter writing to Santa, decorate a gingerbread cookie (fee), etc.

• Strolling Victorian Carolers (inside and outside, starting at 4:30 p.m.)

• Outside roasted chestnuts vendor (fee)

• Food vendors from Quincy restaurants (fee)

Scheduled Activities:

4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Ginger Betty’s Bakery Gingerbread House Decorating Contest

4:30 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.
Local dance school performances (In Sync Center for the Arts, Center Stage and Velocity Dance)

5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Interactive musical performance by “Toe Jam”

6:30 p.m.– 7:30 p.m.
Costumed characters arrive (pass out candy canes)

6:45 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.
Donna Marie Children’s Puppet Show Program

7:15 p.m.
Announce Gingerbread House winner (attendees vote from 5:00 – 7:00)

7:30 p.m.-7:45 p.m.
Quincy Choral Society Perform and turning on the holiday lights with complimentary hot chocolate provided by the City of Quincy

Saturday, November 26, 2011: 12:30 P.M.

Santa arrives by parachute (weather permitting). This event takes place at Pageant Field, One Merrymount Parkway, up the road from Adams Field.

Sunday, November 27, 2011: 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

59th Annual Christmas Parade
The 59th Annual Quincy Christmas Parade begins at the intersection of School, Elm and Hancock Streets, and runs up Hancock Street to North Quincy. The rain date is scheduled for Sunday, December 4th, 2011.

Annual Award Event: 3:30 p.m.: Immediately following the parade at the North Quincy High School Auditorium.
